Alia Yachts appoints Wilma Van Rijn to top team
Wilma Van Rijn has been appointed as the new chief development officer for Alia Yachts in Antalya, Turkey.
Van Rijn is a naval architect who spent 18 years as head of project management, head of technology and senior advisor at Feadship’s Royal Van Lent Shipyard in the Netherlands. Prior to that she worked in design and project management in commercial shipbuilding for ten years. She will work directly alongside Gökhan Çelik, CEO of Alia Yachts, and other senior management.
“An important part of our forward-looking strategy is to continually evolve our organisation and processes to keep in line with our growing business,” says Çelik. “Wilma is exactly the right person who will help us do that. With her wealth of experience at one of the top shipyards in the world, she is well respected in the industry and we’re looking forward to working together to strengthen our structure.”
Van Rijn says she’s excited to join the team. “Having seen first-hand the potential at Alia Yachts, I look forward to contributing to the company’s ongoing success and future goals together,” she says.
Alia, which last year started construction of a new 43-metre project, with exterior lines by long-term design partners Omega Architects, currently has seven superyachts under construction from 43 to 60 metres in length. It recently launched 53-metre Project SeaClub with another hull due to splash in 2024.
