Arksen enters the Channel Islands
Explorer and adventure yacht builder Arksen has appointed South Pier Marine, based in Jersey, as its first dealer in the Channel Islands.
In a statement, South Pier Marine says it aims to create the Channel Islands’ leading, full-service marine centre, offering an extensive range of new and pre-owned boats, engine and instrumentation servicing, shipwrighting and a comprehensive chandlery.
In March 2024, South Pier Marine (which was established in 1926) was acquired by Reconvene Marine, which also acquired PC Boat Sales.
The company, which has a shipyard at South Pier in St. Helier, welcomed its first Arksen vessels, the Adventure Series 28 and 30, just in time for the Jersey Boat Show. An Arksen 8 from the brand-new Discovery Series is arriving this summer.
“We’re very excited to be welcoming Arksen to our stable of the world’s leading boat brands,” says Paul Caunce, CEO of South Pier Marine. “We believe that boating should be at heart an adventure with family and friends, fuelled by a passion, which carries us beyond new horizons. Arksen’s amazing products are the perfect way to explore our precious natural world and we can’t wait to introduce the brand to our customers.”
The 2024 Jersey Boat Show runs from 4 May to 8 May. Visitors to the event will find the Arksen boats on the South Pier Marine stand on St. Helier Marina’s G Pontoon.
“At Arksen Marine we are delighted to collaborate with South Pier, who are in the perfect position to support our growth,” says James Harris, sales manager at Arksen. “With a long history of supporting clients to get the best out of their adventures, Arksen customers will be well looked after and will benefit from their excellent customer service.
“The Channel Islands provide an amazing area for boating, with both tough conditions and incredible scenery, we feel our boats will excel in the area due to their capability to hop between the islands, over to France or just to explore more of the UK coastline.”
In April, Arksen launched its first public investment round. The UK firm is raising £6m Series A capital from institutional and retail investors.
