Barrus technical service manager awarded by Yanmar
Mark Harrison, technical service manager for the marine diesel division at Barrus, has been recognised by Yanmar Marine International (YMI) in its 2024 Service Awards.
The Yanmar Service Awards were launched in 2019 to acknowledge and reward ‘Service Excellence’ amongst service staff working in Yanmar Group companies, distributors, and dealers in Japan and worldwide.
“Mark is one of five 2024 Service Awardees from YMI’s business unit,” says Jasper Steinstra, manager of operations and after-sales at YMI B.V. “Mark has been selected for outstanding customer service and focus, keeping good spirits even during difficult times.”
Harrison has worked at Barrus, a UK-based importer and distributor of marine equipment, for six years, in the marine diesel division responsible for Yanmar marine engines.
“With a network of over 70 Yanmar dealers in the UK, Harrison manages technical enquiries, warranties, projects, and sea trials and supports the divisional workshop. He also delivers service and technical training to dealers’ commercial customers and boat builders.
“This award is truly an honour,” Harrison says. “I pride myself in doing as much as possible to support our customers. They say sales teams sell the first engine and great aftersales sell the second.”
“Mark is a worthy winner of this prestigious award,” says Ben Allen, head of marine at Barrus. “I want to thank him for his commitment and dedication to providing exceptional service to our Yanmar dealer network. To win our customer’s trust in our aftersales service is crucial in maintaining and growing successful partner relationships.”
Harrison will be presented with his award during a ceremony at Yanmar’s headquarters in Osaka, Japan, as part of a four-day visit in March.
