A call has gone out for startups to join a pitching competition at boot Düsseldorf 2024 (20-28 January), with the chance to win a free stand at boot Düsseldorf 2025.

The competition, which is a partnership between boot Düsseldorf, European Boating Industry (EBI) and Yachting Ventures, is designed to foster industry innovators while connecting startups with others in the industry.

During the competition, which takes place on Tuesday, 23 January 2024, from 1:30pm at boot Düsseldorf, a group of five startups will present their products and solutions to a panel of industry experts who are seeking to invest in innovative products and solutions. Several criteria will be used to evaluate pitches, including uniqueness, market potential, scalability, and overall impact on leisure marine in terms of sustainability.

Yachting Ventures says the competition is an invaluable opportunity for startups seeking funding to pitch their ideas. The winning startup will receive a free stand at boot Düsseldorf in 2025, to help it to gain traction and increase brand awareness, with significant media coverage across both the Yachting Ventures and boot Düsseldorf media channels.

“Raising funds is tough for startups, and it takes a while — so founders need to get in front of investors whenever they can,” says Gabbi Richardson, founder of Yachting Ventures. “We’ve teamed up with boot Düsseldorf to organise a pitching competition to help boost the visibility of those raising, with the goal of ultimately helping them succeed.

“The generous prize not only adds value to the winning startup but also provides a tangible opportunity for them to showcase their product at boot in 2025.”

The deadline for startups to apply for the competition is 11 December 2023. 

A hub for startups and scaleups in the leisure marine industry, Yachting Ventures says its primary goal is to provide the network, support and opportunities that high-potential companies need to succeed. 

The collaboration with boot Düsseldorf is the latest in a series of events organised by Yachting Ventures at boat shows globally, including an Innovation Zone at the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show and a Startup Pavilion at METSTRADE.
