Anchoright has won Start-Up of the Year in the Maritime UK Solent Awards, sponsored by DP World.

The company makes robust, ocean-friendly, and user-friendly chain marking systems which provide a new level of safety, precision, and convenience for boaters in anchoring operations.

The system includes what it terms a ‘revolutionary’ guide plate to enhance the safety, ease, and accuracy of anchoring for boats of all sizes. Guide plates and screw-in chain markers are designed to stay securely in place.

“Winning this award for is a significant achievement for Anchoright,” says Quinton Watts, founder of Anchoright. “It reflects our commitment to revolutionising anchoring technology, and reaffirms that we are on the right path to becoming an essential solution for boats of all sizes around the world.”

Watts is a lifelong boater, who says he’s spent years dealing with the frustrations of faded paint and broken plastic that never lasts through the season. “Anchoring safely is essential, and I wanted a permanent, user-friendly solution that would make it easier for anyone on board to quickly gauge the chain length,” he says, explaining where the idea came from. “After countless iterations and rigorous testing across different conditions, we’ve developed a robust, lasting solution that’s ready to serve the boating community with reliability and ease.”

And, speaking of boats of all sizes, Watts now has his eyes firmly set on superyachts.

It’s offering larger sizes to meet the unique needs of luxury vessels and is going to METSTRADE (stand 03.220) to connect with superyacht builders, naval architects, and procurement teams.

“METSTRADE provides us with an incredible platform to showcase our products and meet the key players in the superyacht industry. We’re excited to demonstrate how our innovations can offer a safer, more reliable solution for superyacht captains and crew alike,” says Watts.

“Anchoright is now poised to capture the global market because our chain markers offer a totally unique solution in terms of durability, ease, and environmental consideration. With patent-pending designs that stay securely in place across different anchorages and sea conditions for boats of differing sizes, we’re providing boaters everywhere with a lasting, reliable alternative to traditional, short-lived markers. Our commitment to innovation and functionality sets us apart, and we’re excited to see Anchoright already being established with distributors throughout the world as the go-to brand for anchoring solutions worldwide.”
