Changes afoot at Wessex Resins as David Johnson moves role
Wessex Resins and Adhesives’ well-respected David Johnson is transitioning to the role of technical applications director (from sales director), as the company says its ‘implementing progressive structural changes’.
Johnson (below), who says maintaining prices for a cost-sensitive market is one of the biggest challenges currently facing the bio-based epoxy market, will continue to provide technical support and product advice to the distribution network, customers and at boat building colleges, industry events and seminars.
He says while he is privileged to have championed the three brands (West System, Pro-Set and Entropy Resins) for 30 of his 45-year career, moving to the new role offers opportunities to deliver technical leadership and support to customers and staff alike. “This will provide new ideas and direction for everyone involved,” says Johnson.
Stepping into Johnson’s shoes, is Julian Bush (main image), as head of sales. He will be focusing on driving profitable growth and achieving business KPIs.
“I’m honoured to be part of Wessex Resins and Adhesives, a portfolio of brands where the customer always comes first. Our technical support is unparalleled, ensuring we meet the innovative and demanding needs of our customers,” says Bush. “Our end-to-end customer support is attentive, from consultative account management and order processing to the complexities of production and supply. I’m eager to meet with our valued partners to explore the growth potential of our brands further. I look forward to contributing to the future development here at Wessex Resins, benefiting all parties involved.”
One of Bush’s primary responsibilities will be developing a sales strategy that merges the existing distribution network with direct sales.
Richard Ross is now a senior sales manager. He says: “Advancing within such a distinguished and thriving international sales team is a tremendous privilege. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the next phase of Wessex Resins’ growth on the global stage, and I am greatly looking forward to this challenge.”
Ian Oliver, the company’s MD says he will be looking to grow the sales team further in the coming months and expects to appoint additional sales managers, in order to continue the growth trajectory.
