D-Marin acquires sixth Italian marina: Porto Mirabello
D-Marin has acquired Porto Mirabello. That’s a superyacht marina located in the Gulf of La Spezia and marks D-Marin’s sixth marina in Italy. It’s built along a 40,000 m2 peninsula.
The company acquired a 100 per cent stake from founder Alessandro Menozzi and DeA Capital Real Estate SGR to strengthen its presence in the Mediterranean (view its marina locations online). In late 2023 the company announced it’d partnered with Azimut Benetti to expand D-its marina business by improving the growth of nautical tourism in the Mediterranean.
“Porto Mirabello is a significant addition to our portfolio,” says Oliver Dörschuck, CEO of D-Marin. “Its outstanding facilities and strategic location enhance our Mediterranean offerings, enabling us to deliver unparalleled marina experiences in one of Italy’s most beautiful coastal settings.
“D-Marin’s strategy is to create a large selection of premium marinas so that customers have location cruising choice in the simplest way possible. This and many other marinas are within a preferred cluster which can bring this to life,” says Dörschuck. “It has been our intention from day one to acquire new marinas.
“We have planned acquisitions throughout the Med and fingers crossed we can continue to add new locations in the coming years.”
Established in 2010, Porto Mirabello caters to the demands of the world’s largest superyachts, up to 140 metres in length. It has 407 berths and offers amenities such as a heliport, dining, and boutique shopping. Its high-end facilities include a swimming pool, spa, gym, concierge services, and a shipyard equipped with a 160-ton travel lift for maintenance and repairs, complemented by its Blue Flag award for water quality and sustainable practices.
Then there’s the stunning views of the surrounding coastal scenery.
Dörschuck says Porto Mirabello is already a terrific marina and loved by many yachtsmen, but even so the group plans to implement a range of improvements and adopt a customer-centric approach, to deliver a premium service that enriches the marina customers’ yachting experiences. “Our work will focus on integration into the D-Marin group along with the usual updates and maintenance requirements.
“The excitement comes from providing yacht owners with real choice that can be enjoyed time and time again,” Dörschuck explains. “Our industry has the opportunity to bring resources together through collaboration to try and ensure that the yachting experience can be enriched, that’s the D-Marin goal. We believe that by working super hard to create consumer choice and effortless experiences we broaden the sectors appeal and create the opportunity for yachting to be more appealing to a wider audience.”
D-Marin was established in 2003 and is headquartered in Greece. Its has marinas across the Mediterranean and Gulf regions, totalling over 14,000 berths with dry dock facilities that can accommodate over 2,500 vessels.
