ePropulsion to power Vision Marine vessels
ePropulsion Americas is joining forces with Canada-headquartered electric boatbuilder Vision Marine Technologies to supply electric propulsion systems for Vision Marine’s vessels.
ePropulsion has provided propulsion systems for Vision Marine Electric Boats for over a decade. Recently, Vision Marine introduced the rotomolded Phantom model at the Miami International Boat Show, powered by the ePropulsion 6kW and Navy 6.0 Evo systems. The new X series will also be available on both the Phantom and the Volt, a fibreglass counterpart to the Phantom. To date, ePropulsion technology has powered over 385,000 boaters in rental environments worldwide.
“ePropulsion emerges as the ideal partner with their extensive expertise in electric propulsion,” says Alexandre Mongeon, CEO of Vision Marine Technologies. “Vision Marine now presents a tested and dependable solution, seamlessly integrated into the Phantom and ensuring outstanding performance. With a low-voltage system powering a fully plastic boat, this offers an effortless and efficient solution for our clientele.”
Tom Watson, president of ePropulsion Americas, adds: “At ePropulsion, we’re delighted to keep growing our relationship with Vision Marine Technologies. Our collaboration on the innovative Phantom marks an exciting new chapter in our relationship, and we’re happy to help provide customers with a holistic, zero-emission boating solution.”
The Phantom will be available through select ePropulsion dealers, both on request and by recommendation.
Earlier this year, Vision Marine Technologies secured an investment of ‘up to’ US$3m from the government of Québec, through Investissement Québec, in the form of a subscription to preferred shares.
