Fossil Free Marine appoints head of business to government
Swedish startup Fossil Free Marine has appointed Andreas Wiman as its head of business to government.
Fossil Free Marine develops infrastructure solutions that enable the transition to fossil-free and sustainable boating, including biofuels and fast charging for electric boats.
Wiman will be part of the startup‘s management team and leverage his experience to advance its mission of promoting naval mobile storage and refuelling solutions to customers in the government sector.
Wiman is an active investor and will be a new shareholder in Fossil Free Marine. Wiman is also running his own investment company, NXT Phase AB, which focuses on innovative companies with dual-use potential. He is also a partner and one of the founders of the publicly traded Global Security Fund.
“I am super thrilled to have the opportunity to join Fossil Free Marine, both as an investor and as head of business to government,” says Wiman. “The mobile refuelling and storage pontoons that the team at Fossil Free Marine has developed are both unique and what our key customers need.
“I look forward to helping the company grow and to provide innovative first-class storage and refuelling solutions to our governmental customers.”
In 2021, Fossil Free Marine applied for patent and design protection for its unmanned floating renewable marine fuel station.

With this solution, Fossil Free Marine says it is targeting the large global market of privately owned and commercial boats under 60 feet.
“Andreas brings extensive industry experience to our team,” says Niklas Sjöö, co-founder of Fossil Free Marine and chair of the board. “As part of our expansion strategy, we’re focusing on engaging government entities in the Nordic countries to begin with. Andreas will lead efforts to establish strategic partnerships and navigate regulatory landscapes to ensure our growth, particularly in securing marine fuel along the Nordic coastlines.”
