Brokerage firm Fraser Yachts has acquired a controlling interest in Atalanta Golden Yachts, a charter management agency based in Athens, Greece.

Following an initial period of transition, the newly combined companies will operate under the brand Fraser Yachts Greece as part of the overall Fraser Yachts Group.

The news was confirmed in a statement by recreational boat and yacht retailer and superyacht services firm MarineMax, which acquired Fraser in 2019. MarineMax says the acquisition of Atalanta strengthens its position in the global superyacht services sector.

Founded in 2006, today, Atalanta manages 51 yachts in Greece from 21m to over 95m. John Dragnis, principal shareholder of Atalanta Golden Yachts, maintains a significant stake and will remain involved in the growth and development of Fraser’s operations in Greece. The acquisition is expected to close in the quarter ending 31 December, 2023,  and be accretive in its first full year of operations.

Atalanta Golden Yachts is one of Greece’s leading yacht charter management companies. Since 2006, the firm has successfully managed luxury charters for clients in Greece and many other destinations around the world, including France, Italy, Croatia, Turkey, the Red Sea and the Caribbean.
