Henri-Lloyd sticks to tried and tested show formula to showcase new ranges
Henri-Lloyd’s says its new range of jackets and salopettes will be highly visible at this year’s autumn boat shows – namely Southampton Boat Show and Cannes Yachting Festival. It’ll be aiming to lure in the crowds with its ‘vibrant’ Biscay and Sail Jackets, with matching Coastal Hi-Fit salopettes.
“Henri-Lloyd attends boat shows through its trade partners,” says Simon Payne, chief commercial officer. “By collaborating with key retailers, we believe it offers the best buying experience for consumers. Often the Henri-Lloyd team will support retailers at boat shows by providing on site sales support to deliver the best consumer experience. Plus, it enables us to interact with the market first hand, whilst helping the retailers to optimise sales.”
The company, which recently launched supporters gear for INEOS Britannia, says the Biscay Jacket (pictured above) is a familiar look, as its design is inspired by Henri-Lloyd’s original Biscay model. However, the new Biscay is made from two-layer recycled PFC-free Dri Pro shell with taped seams and reflects the bold stripe and striking colours in red or navy blue interlaced with white.
Key features include a high storm collar with fleece lining and zip chin guard for full-face protection, with double storm flap and double cuff design to prevent water or cold air getting inside the jacket. The laminated outer cuff adjusts with hook and loop closure while the inner PU cuff offers a soft, next-to-skin, waterproof barrier. The adjustable hi-visibility hood is easy to store and includes a drainage system to divert running water away from the peak. There are seven pockets, including double fleece-lined hand warmer pockets. Two large Union Jack reflectors ensure user visibility in low-light sailing and dark MOB situations. The Biscay Jacket retails at £325 and is designed for men in sizes S-3XL, and in a women’s cut to suit sizes XS-XXL. Further details are available on its website.
The new Coastal Hi-Fit salopettes will be at the shows. They are designed to complement Henri-Lloyd’s Biscay and Sail Jackets, and are available in red and navy blue. Made from two-layer PFC free Dri Pro fabric with taped seams they feature Cordura reinforced knee, rear and heels to help ensure long-term robustness and durability.
Side panels provide significant extra comfort, flexibility and temperature control when in use all day long and a taffeta lining protects the waterproof layer whilst offering easy donning and doffing with no inter-layer grab.
Available in men sizing S-XXL, and in women from XS-XXL, the back waist adjuster ensures a snug and comfortable fit. In addition, the women’s Coastal Hi-Fits feature a drop seat with non-corrosive Vislon AquaGuard zips for longevity. The Coastal Hi-Fits retail at £250.
Henri-Lloyd says another of its popular jackets this year is the Sail Jacket. That features a dropped adjustable hem, soft fleece lining, easy access hood adjusters and mid-height collar with a microfleece chin guard. It’s got laminated cuff adjusters and a secure hook and loop cuff closure to guarantee a snug fit with asymmetric cuff ends providing extra protection for the hands.
