German shipyard Lürssen has launched its latest vessel, the 82-metre superyacht Project Cali, from the construction shed at its facilities in Rendsburg.

Bremen-based Lürssen says delivery of the 82-metre vessel is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.

Cali’s exterior concept was designed by Lürssen’s in-house exterior designer Jim Robert Sluijter, and is defined by sleek and elegant lines, emphasised by the yacht’s distinctive reversed bow shape.

British design studio RWD has penned the interiors, which are said to revolve around a convivial layout, designed for entertaining.

Lürssen says the yacht is laid out for a family that loves outdoor activities, and therefore two of the yacht’s main features are outdoor areas. The spacious beach club on the lower deck opens to both sides with big sea terraces and is connected to a very large swim platform aft.

The 30-metre-long sun deck also offers panoramic views and has plenty of space for daytime as well as evening activities. The sun deck also features a Jacuzzi, a lounge area, a bar and dining area with a barbecue and pizza oven and an outdoor cinema.

Lürssen, which was targeted by a cyberattack in April, has delivered several vessels this year. The gargantuan 146m megayacht Opera turned heads during its maiden voyage in Portsmouth, on the UK’s south coast, in March.

In May, Lürssen’s striking 90-metre Norn — designed by Espen Oeino — also made its maiden voyage.

Also in May, the €330m Lürssen superyacht Ahpo sold, and was renamed Lady Jorgia, in one of the largest brokerage deals in history.
