Woman speaks at MESTRADE start up pavillion

British marine recruitment company Marine Resources and Yachting Ventures have formed a new partnership to connect experienced industry professionals with emerging startups in the yachting sector. The collaboration will establish the Startup Advisor Pool, a group of industry experts providing consultancy, board directorship, and equity partnership opportunities to support startups.

Recognising that many startups face budget constraints limiting their ability to hire full teams, this initiative will offer access to seasoned executives and business leaders. Marine Resources says it will use its network to recruit senior professionals to help startups navigate the challenges to growth.

“I remember how hard it was to connect with the most experienced professionals in the industry when I was starting out and wish I had something like the Startup Advisor Pool to tap into,” says James Ward, CEO at Marine Resources. “Over the last 20 years, we have built up an extensive network of professionals who will be able to add a lot of value.

“Through our Startup Advisor Pool, we can match the right skills to the needs of each business, building valuable commercial partnerships that drive success in the marine sector.”

Yachting Ventures, a growth platform for startups in the leisure marine industry, has supported over 300 startups in developing products and services. Their community of more than 160 members allows founders to share experiences and seek advice. The firm says the new partnership aims to connect entrepreneurs with experts and further promote innovation in the marine industry.

“We know how hard it is to build a startup and finding the right team is one of the hardest bits,” says Gabbi Richardson, founder of Yachting Ventures. “We’ve seen time and time again how a strong advisory board can play a crucial part in a startups’ journey and success, particularly if they are raising funding. Exclusive access to the Startup Advisor Pool will add significant value to our community members, and we’re excited to work with James on this initiative.”

Yachting Ventures recently announced the lineup for the 2024 Start-Up Pavilion at METSTRADE, the world’s largest marine equipment trade show. Earlier this year, Yachting Ventures unveiled its new all-in-one community platform and media-centric website. The YV community, specifically designed for founders in leisure marine, now boasts +160 global members.
