MarineMax expands to $1bn marina development in Texas
Yacht retailer MarineMax has expanded to Rowlett, Texas, with the grand opening of its newest location, MarineMax Lake Ray Hubbard, situated at Sapphire Bay Marina.
“This expansion marks an exciting chapter for MarineMax as we set our sights on Rowlett and the promising community of Sapphire Bay,” says Kevin Chapman, general manager. “We’re eager to bring our exceptional lineup of boats and services to this vibrant area.”
MarineMax Lake Ray Hubbard will offer a selection of boat brands, including Aviara, Boston Whaler, Harris, MasterCraft, Premier and Sea Ray.
This new location is situated at Sapphire Bay Marina, a $1bn mixed development project on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. MarineMax says the expansion to Rowlett aligns with Sapphire Bay’s ‘vibrant growth and potential.’
Sapphire Bay has attractions including a manufactured lagoon, accommodation, a surf village, a water park, residential units, mixed-use spaces, parks, trails and a marina.
Last year, the lagoon-themed development suffered a setback after a large fire ripped through its 400 apartment units before tenants could move in. Half of the apartments suffered fire damage and had to be demolished, with the other half delivered on time.
The grand opening event for MarineMax Lake Ray Hubbard takes place at Sapphire Bay Marine on 27 April 2024, from 12pm to 4pm. MarineMax will host a Cajun Boil featuring food, live music, a raffle, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
