Dutch superyacht equipment specialist MEOS has introduced a newly developed railing system specifically for superyachts. 

‘Railing System 2.0,’ encompasses a production method that eliminates the need for traditional tubular supports, bottom rails, or handrails. Instead, the railing uses straight or curved glass panels embedded simply at the bottom in a ‘contoured floor module’ that the company says can be integrated into any superyacht with a handrail at the top. 

The manufacturing process allows for unique handrail shapes beyond conventional round and oval cross-sections. Furthermore, the process can also result in tight radii, which is particularly beneficial in staircase areas. 

Dr Reinhard Mehl, owner and managing director of MEOS, says: “Every product can be approached disruptively. Of course, our new railing will not replace the old forms, but it can be an alternative. Glass and the associated transparency is also an important topic for many yachts.” 

The company also offers complete systems, including glass, carbon fibre, wooden components, upper deck furniture, safety gates and doors, flagpoles, and unique projects. 

MEOS has worked on 91 superyachts and is part of the Deutsche Yachten group.
