Mercury Marine unveils two new Avator electric outboards at CES
Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation, is unveiling two new low-voltage Avator electric outboards, the Avator 75e and 110e, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
New for 2024, the 75e and 110e complete Mercury’s five-model lineup of low-voltage electric propulsion and bring Avator’s signature features to a higher power level. Also at CES, Mercury offered a first look at the next step in its electrification journey with a high-voltage electric concept propulsion system.
Mercury launched its first electric propulsion product, the award-winning Avator 7.5e, at CES last January. Mercury’s Avator 20e and 35e were released in August, and are CES 2024 Innovation Award honorees.
“We are thrilled to unveil the Avator 75e and 110e on a world stage at CES,” says John Buelow, Mercury Marine president. “As we deliver on our commitment to introduce five low-voltage electric outboards, we are also excited to provide a concept of a high-voltage electric propulsion system. This concept, along with our incredible internal combustion products which have redefined outboard performance, continue to position us as the innovation leader in the marine industry.”
Full Avator range
The 75e and 110e Avator electric outboards will be used on a variety of applications, including aluminium and composite multihull, aluminium fishing boats, skiffs, inflatables and smaller fibreglass runabouts. Like the Avator 20e and 35e, the new models will also be used in commercial fleet applications and in ICE-restricted waterways.
The 75e (pictured left) produces 7.5kW (7,500W) of propulsive power at the propeller, and the 110e produces 11kW (11,000W) of propulsive power at the propeller.
Additional details, including pricing, will be released upon product launch in mid-2024.
The full Avator low-voltage lineup and high-voltage electric concept propulsion system will be featured at this year’s boot Düsseldorf International Boat Show, which runs 20-28 January 2024, and the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, which runs 14-18 February.
Headquartered in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Mercury Marine is the world’s leading manufacturer of recreational marine propulsion engines.
Electrification at the Consumer Electronics Show
Brunswick will feature the next evolution of its Autonomy, Connectivity, Electrification and Shared Access technologies at CES this week. On show will new electrification products, the next evolution of autonomous boating, and the CES debut of its new eFoiling brand – Flite, all set in a simulated marina of the future.
Some of the highlights of Brunswick’s 2024 CES exhibit include:
Autonomy: Brunswick will showcase its Boston Whaler, 405 Conquest, featuring an autonomous docking system that makes use of multiple stereo cameras and precise thrust vectoring and position control from its triple, 600hp, V12 Mercury Marine outboard engines – a 2023 CES Innovation Award winner. In addition, Brunswick will have an immersive simulator allowing visitors to experience and interact with a busy marine environment and dock a boat using auto-docking technology.
Connectivity: Brunswick’s exhibit will profile many of its connected solutions, including C-Zone Mobile, VesselView Mobile and other connected applications that allow boaters to maintain contact with and remotely interact with their boat as well as benefit from enhanced safety features such as those featured in the CES Innovation Award-winning 1st Mate Safety and Security System.
Electrification: As detailed above, for the first time, Brunswick will showcase all five of its Mercury Marine Avator electric outboard engines, including the 7.5e, 20e, 35e, 75e, and 110e models. The electrification exhibit will also feature Brunswick’s all-purpose Veer V13 boat powered by an Avator electric engine and four different FliteBoard models, highlighting the diversity of the exciting Flite eFoil product line.
Shared Access: Brunswick’s marine of the future exhibit concept will feature Freedom Boat Club and its global, shared-access boating participation opportunities.
