New online marina supplier directory launched in Asia-Pacific
The Marina Industries Association (MIA) has launched its latest industry initiative, the Marina Supplier Directory.
Based in Australia, MIA is a leading industry association across the Asia-Pacific region, representing clubs, marinas, boatyards and suppliers.
The online, searchable guide enables marina operators to search by supplier name, business category and product lines. It’s said the new directory will make it easier for marina managers to locate a broad range of products, suppliers and service providers, ensuring the industry has the widest choice of products and services available at the click of a mouse.
“It’s great to see such useful and supportive initiatives from the MIA,” says David Osmond, marina superintendent at Gladstone Marina in Queensland. “This will not only save time in sourcing products and services but ensures that we, as marina managers, are aware of our options and all suppliers available on the market. It’s going to be a very useful resource.”
The directory is also billed as a great tool for suppliers to the industry to market their businesses and products directly to marinas and boatyards. MIA CEO Suzanne Davies says: “All MIA supplier members are entitled to list their businesses and products free of charge. Non-member suppliers to the industry are also welcome to list by purchasing an annual listing. Businesses can advertise specials and provide MIA members with exclusive offers.”
This searchable online directory also includes a ‘Marketplace’ – like Gumtree or Facebook marketplace – that enables marinas to advertise any second-hand equipment that may be useful to another facility. This service is free and exclusive to MIA members.
The Marina Supplier Directory is a free resource for all in the marina industry to use. For more information about the Marina Supplier Directory or to list your business, contact Ed Shute, MIA’s membership & programmes manager.
In December, MIA launched its Superyacht Ready accreditation, designed to help skippers and owners identify marinas that have the capacity and capabilities required to provide safe and adequate berthing for superyachts.
