New sales manager at Cantiere Mimì
Italian shipyard Cantiere Mimì has appointed Rosaria Senese as its sales manager.
Cantiere Mimì is managed by the same family that founded it in 1975, now in its fourth generation. The Campania-based shipyard is known for traditional gozzo boats with lightweight planing hulls.
Rosaria Senese is the daughter of the firm’s CEO Domenico Senese, who is the son of Cantiere Mimì‘s founder Salvatore Senese.
“I’ve spent time in the yard for years and have always loved this place, and certain projects in particular, such as the Walkaround line,” says Rosaria. “With the internationalisation of our production and rising demand, there was a lot more for me to do, so it was natural for me to take on more and more responsibility.”
She adds: “Now that my father has specialised in the European and foreign markets, my main task is to oversee production in Italy. I’m extremely proud to be able to contribute to a story that grew out of an idea of my great-grandfather’s.
The success of our company, whose yard now occupies 7,000 square metres, isn’t just down to the passion we all put into it. It’s also the result of a number of factors working together: 3D boat design, production using CNC milling machines, the use of solid teak seasoned and shaped by hand, ultra-lightweight hulls delivering a 30 per cent reduction in power requirements and therefore engine size and consumption levels and, lastly, our modern and functional designs by Valerio Rivellini”.
