Nimbus Group starts production in North America
Sweden’s Nimbus Group will start local production of the Nimbus brand boat in North America. The boats will be produced in EdgeWater Power Boats’ existing production facility in Edgewater, Florida, which was included in the acquisition of EdgeWater earlier this year.
Since the acquisition, the firm says its facility has been updated to cope with increased production, and starting in February 2024, boats of model Nimbus T8 will also be produced there to coincide with the 2025 model year product planning.
Nimbus Group says increased investment in the North American market and premium boats form a central part of its growth strategy. The company recently consolidated its sales organisation in North America, which means that all sales of Nimbus Group’s various brands in the North American market will be handled by Nimbus Group USA LLC.
Earlier this month, Nimbus Group also confirmed it is introducing its Finnish brand Aquador to the North American market from January 2024.
For the third quarter of 2023, Nimbus Group reported an organic sales increase of premium boats by 19 per cent, while the order book in North America increased to a record high SEK550m (US$53.1m), corresponding to 58 per cent of the total order book.
“Starting local US production of Nimbus brand boats is a natural next step in our increasing investment in the important North American market,” says Jan-Erik Lindström, CEO of Nimbus Group.
Nimbus Group produces and markets powerboats, including the brands Alukin, Aquador, Bella, Falcon, Flipper, Nimbus and Paragon Yachts. Operations are conducted in Sweden, Finland, Poland, England, Norway and the USA.
