Numarine 30XP

Turkish boatbuilder Numarine has introduced new soundproofing technology in its latest explorer yachts, the 30XP and 45XP, developed in collaboration with Silent Line.

The company says it has focused on reducing noise and vibration levels, aiming to enhance onboard comfort, and that the 30XP and 45XP are its quietest superyachts yet.

The 30XP, which debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2024, features a diesel-electric propulsion system and a custom acoustic generator enclosure. According to Numarine, noise levels in the lower deck guest cabins remain below 40dBa at 7 knots, while the main deck master stateroom registers 38.1dBa. At anchor, the master stateroom records 23.8dBa.

The yacht, built from GRP, includes four VIP cabins on the lower deck and a full-beam owner’s cabin on the main deck. A raised open aft deck increases headroom below, where three fold-down platforms expand available space to 43 square metres.

Founder and chairman Ömer Malaz says: “At Numarine, we have always wanted to do better than our European competitors. Our boats must be able to take you wherever you want to go in whatever conditions, and do so in comfort and safety. That’s why we have worked so hard to move the dial on noise levels aboard. After decades of experience, I still believe that there is nothing more luxurious on a boat than silence, providing the opportunity to fully engage with the people and the seascape around you.”

Numarine’s new flagship, the 45XP, incorporates further noise-reduction measures using Silent Line’s modelling techniques and materials. The yacht’s sound insulation system is said to reduce weight by nearly 3 tonnes while improving performance. Enhanced flexible mountings for the engine and generators reduce structural vibration, while floating floors, partitions, and ceilings further dampen noise. The air conditioning system has also been refined for quieter operation.

Sjaak van Cappellen, founder of Silent Line, says: “As Silent Line, we are proud and honoured to be a long-term partner of Numarine Yachts. Today’s noise and vibration results are based on many years of research and the optimisation of in-house computer modelling, in which the data is abstracted from intensive noise and vibration measurements on board Numarine’s composite and steel yachts.”

The 45XP features an oceanic range, and a beach club with an indoor-outdoor section accessible when the transom folds down to create a platform. The full-beam owner’s stateroom, located forward on the main deck, includes a private bow terrace. The lower deck has four guest cabins with flexible layouts.

Malaz adds: “We are very much looking forward to showing off the capabilities of our new flagship. We have worked hard with Silent Line to ensure that the Numarine 45XP runs more quietly than any other we have built. They have been fantastic to work with on this project, which marries their acoustic know-how with our boat-building expertise.”
