RS Sailing appoints new distributor in China
RS Sailing has appointed Beijing HHH Sports Technology Co. Ltd. (BJ HHH) as its new Chinese distributor. The first shipment of boats is due to arrive in China this month.
Beijing-based BJ HHH is an importer of sailing boats for Chinese sailing federations, associations and individual athletes. The firm also supports a range of sailing programmes with activity and event organisation.
Celebrating three decades this year, the RS Sailing range include boats for beginners, families as well as clubs and sail training programmes. RS Sailing is the world’s largest small-sailboat brand, distributing over 3,000 boats per year to all corners of the globe.
BJ HHH signed the distributor agreement in a ceremony at the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show in February, although made the official announcement this morning (9 July 2024). Officials from the company flew to the UK to attend the event in Farnborough International. BJ HHH CEO Rean Chen met with RS Marine Group CEO Jon Partridge for the official signing.
The first shipment of boats departed to China from RS Sailing’s warehouse in June, and will arrive in China this month. The range includes models from the RS Tera, RS Zest, RS Quest, RS Feva and RS Aero fleets.

Rean Chen, CEO of BJ HHH, says the firm chose to partner with RS Sailing over alternative companies due to a variety of positive factors. “RS sailboats are ahead of other ship manufactures in terms of design, innovation, and performance. The diversified RS Sailing products will play an important role in promoting the comprehensive development of China’s sailing sport,” says Chen.
“RS Sailing products match the current needs of the Chinese sailing sports enthusiasts and of future development. They provide better options for professional sailors.”
Chen adds that BJ HHH will work closely with sailing associations that offer taster and training opportunities. “Sailing in China is experiencing development opportunities, that is, the improvement of social cognition and the growth of market demand. Beijing HHH will co-operate closely with RS Sailing to promote Chinese sailing events, training, and other activities.”
Jon Partridge, CEO at RS Marine Group, adds: “I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship between our two great organisations. We may be divided by distance, but we are united by our passion for the sport of sailing. This common bond will help us achieve many wonderful things together.”
