Shark Seating bites into the European market
New Zealand-based suspension seating firm Shark Seating is expanding throughout Europe.
Since establishing warehousing in Brussels, in December 2021, the firm says its sales have tripled.
Now, on the back of releasing the 7kg Ultra-lite, described by Shark as the world’s lightest suspension seat, the firm has recently appointed marine sales specialist Matt Forbes from Yessss, based in the UK; and the country-specific sales specialists Luke Verheul for the Netherlands and Michael McCort for Belgium, to continue establishing new OEM relationships in the European market.
“This heightened commitment in Europe coincides with Shark securing significant defence contracts featuring our NATO Stock (NSN) range,” says Paul Zwaan, founder and seat designer at Shark. “Additionally, at the 2023 METSTRADE show, Shark Seating introduced ULTRA-lite, a 6” stroke, super-light shock-mitigation seat that caters to a broad range of budgets, including those of tour boats and recreational boaters.
“We like the number three at Shark: 1/3rd the cost and 1/3rd weight, but three times the movement and warranty. It will be a game-changer for innovative boat-builders looking to stand out from the crowd.”
