Electric catamaran builder Silent Yachts has unveiled an expansive growth trajectory, aiming to deliver 18 yachts over the next 18 months.

In the spring of this year, the builder launched the first Silent 62 tri-deck and plans to deliver seven more of the same model by the end of the year. The shipyard in Fano, Italy, is currently operating at full capacity with a workforce of 180 to meet the schedule. 

This growth is courtesy of the builder’s new ownership, which came after it was acquired out of administration earlier this year.

Silent Yachts CEO Fabrizio Larrera says: “This is a really exciting time for Silent Yachts. We know from the volume of orders and the interest shown at boat shows that the Silent 62 has captured the imagination of sustainability-minded boaters.”

The builder says it has orders for the Silent 62 in all three variants: a retractable flybridge, an open three-deck, and a spacious true three-deck.

Silent Yachts plans to showcase two models in a world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2024, the first Silent 62 Open – which will also appear at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show – and the Silent 62 Closed. 

“We’re expecting this boat to attract lots of serious attention at the Cannes show.

“By fully glazing in the sides of the upper deck, this space becomes a luxurious addition to the interior accommodation. The far-sighted client behind this first example is taking advantage of the floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views to create a peerless master stateroom on the upper deck,” adds Larrera. 

Meanwhile, progress on the Silent 80 model continues, with plans to unveil it at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025. The solar-electric propulsion model is available in the same three variants as the 62: retractable flybridge and open and closed deck.

The builder plans to deliver two 80s by the end of 2025, alongside another eight 62 models. Simultaneously, the firm is working on a model that will fill the gap between the 62 and 80 range, slated for a world debut in 2026. 

Working to fulfil all orders, Silent Yachts will further expand its shipyard capacity. By the end of the year, the builder aims to increase its staff to 220 employees, and by mid-2025, that will increase again to 270. Despite significant output, the firm says there is still potential for a few new build slots for 2025.
