SSCo unveils new carbon mooring whips
Superyacht deck equipment manufacturer Shipyard Supply Co. (SSCo) has launched a new five-metre carbon tender mooring whip.
This new product release follows the success of SSCo’s six-metre whip, which the British firm says has become a popular choice for superyachts with large tenders exceeding 7,000kg.
SSCo says its five-metre version was developed in response to demand for those who required mooring whips for smaller tenders without compromising the attributes associated with a carbon fibre finish, including flexibility, lightness and strength.
The tender whips are equipped with an internally run line. Stainless steel ferrules at the entry and exit points help to reduce line chafe and protect the clear coat finish. A Spinlock PXR securely holds the line while a mesh storage bag neatly organises any excess.
“These mooring whips are the result of SSCo’s relentless commitment to innovation and quality,” says SSCo’s managing director Josh Richardson. “We are proud to manufacture from our own dedicated facility in the UK, with a passionate team leading the way in pioneering deck solutions using cutting-edge methods of construction.”
SSCo is displaying its full range of tender mooring whips, from 4m fibreglass to 6m carbon, at METSTRADE 2023 (15-17 November 2023) in the Superyacht Pavilion, stand no. 11.319.
