Sunreef’s 80 Sunreef Power Eco to make US debut at FLIBS
Polish multihull specialist Sunreef is debuting its new 80 Sunreef Power Eco for the first time in the US at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), which runs from 25-29 October.
The 80 Sunreef Power Sól is an electric luxury catamaran using Sunreef Yachts’ solar power system and electric propulsion.
The 80 Sunreef Power Eco Sól features composite-integrated solar panels, known as a solar skin, which are seamlessly built into the yacht’s hulls, bimini roof and superstructure to generate power for the 990kWh battery bank.
With a density of less than 5.2 kg per kWh, Sunreef Yachts says its Eco batteries are close to 30 per cent lighter than the average systems commonly used in the yachting world, making them some of the biggest battery banks in the industry.
Established in the port city of Gdansk, Poland by French businessman Francis Lapp, Sunreef Yachts specialises in the design and construction of fully-customised catamarans and multihull superyachts.
The firm has recently expanded with a new office in Dubai and its first overseas centre in Ras Al-Khaimah, the United Arab Emirates, in response to rising demand from the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
Commissioned by an experienced family of yacht owners, this innovative 23.8-metre solar yacht is suitable for both long private cruises and sustainable luxury charters.
The Eco range is a line of ‘eco-responsible’ sailing and power luxury catamarans. The shipyard says it combines electric propulsion, smart energy management, ultramodern solar panels and ethically sourced finishing materials for a ‘responsible yachting experience’. All catamarans in the Sunreef Eco range feature custom-engineered battery banks.
The four-cabin luxury catamaran features a custom-tailored layout accommodating eight guests. Sòl’s interiors — penned by the in-house design team at Sunreef Yachts — are relaxing, with plenty of natural light and bright finishing materials.
