Superyacht Technology Show adds hybrid and electric zone
Superyacht Technology Network (SYT Network) has announced a major expansion of its annual Superyacht Technology Show for 2025, with the inclusion of a new hybrid and electric zone.
The announcement came on the first day of the 2024 show, which is taking place in Barcelona from 20 to 21 March 2024.
With up to 35 yachts located in a custom dock at Marina Port Vell, adjacent to the show at Barcelona’s World Trade Centre, the new show-within-a-show will highlight advances in alternative fuel and sustainable energy solutions by showcasing the latest technology in action aboard the exhibiting vessels.
SYT Network says the dedicated space will complement the extensive systems technology on show in the World Trade Centre and provide a platform for the leading superyacht builders and supporting industries who are incorporating innovative hybrid and electric developments in new projects. The new zone will be accessed by EV cars and electric tenders on water to compliment the hybrid and electric theme.
This substantial expansion of the show’s offering has been facilitated by additional investment from major shareholder and industry veteran Will Faimatea in line with his drive for positive change in the industry.
“We have been discussing the development of sustainable power systems with superyacht builders, designers and project managers from all the leading companies around the world,” says Jack Robinson, director of SYT Network. “They have been unanimous in their desire to separate technology and brokerage at shows in the future to allow them to focus more on the yacht buyers. In response, our 2025 event will be unique in reflecting that demand.

“Our goal is to be a key influencer in the changing landscape of superyacht and hybrid technology, so we are delighted that we have been able to secure this amazing facility at Marina Port Vell for our show in March 2025. Yachts from world-leading manufacturers will be docked in this important marina to highlight their latest and future technology for both power and sail.”
Ignacio Erroz, general manager of Marina Port Vell, says: “This will be the first show of its kind to focus purely on the many technologies required to sustainably manage the modern superyachts of the future. It is a rapidly growing and changing market and we are proud that Jack and his team have chosen Marina Port Vell as the window into this exciting future.”
The 2025 hybrid and electric zone at Marina Port Vell will be adjacent to over 200 exhibitor booths in the World Trade Centre, in addition to an even larger conference event, plus social and VIP events.
The fourth edition of the Superyacht Technology Show will be held in Barcelona World Trade Centre and Marina Port Vell on 18 and 19 March 2025.
