Tecnomar launches 43m catamaran This Is It
The Italian Sea Group has launched the 43-metre motor catamaran This Is It under its Tecnomar brand.
The 750GT vessel, which measures 43.5 meters in length and 14.5 meters in width, will make its world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show next week, which takes place 27-30 September 2023 in Port Hercule.
“The realisation of this extraordinary project challenges the ‘conventional’ perceptions, driving us to completely recreate the boundaries of aesthetic parameters,” says Giovanni Costantino, founder and CEO of The Italian Sea Group. This Is It is born as the perfect blend between the desires of a forward-thinking owner and a brand like Tecnomar, capable of taking on such an ambitious and demanding challenge.”
The yacht’s exterior hull lines, which “evoke fantastic sea creatures,” according to the shipyard, are optimised to enhance hydrodynamic efficiency, leading to a significant reduction in fuel consumption and, therefore, emissions. In compliance with IMO Tier III requirements, the yacht is equipped with innovative exhaust gas treatment technology (SCR – Selective Catalytic Reduction) to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.
TISG says the ‘radical’ silhouette — enveloped by more than 600 square meters of glass windows — represented a significant challenge for the TISG design team, starting with weight control. The complex curved shape of the aluminium superstructure pushed the performance of this material to its limits.
The interiors offer six cabins, a massage room, and a galley with polarised glass for events and show cooking. The spacious owner’s area, in addition to a large skylight with a height of 3.3 meters and a panoramic terrace, features a vertical garden spanning two decks.
Earlier this month, the Italian Sea Group launched the first sailing catamaran of the Perini Navi fleet, S/Y Art Explorer.
Designed by architect Axel De Beaufort, who oversaw the exterior and interior design, Art Explorer is now the world’s largest aluminium sailing catamaran, according to the shipyard.
