More footage has emerged of the 150ft superyacht Ethos, formerly Entourage, which suffered heavy damage this week after its tender garage door was left open. Greek media – the incident occurred in Paleokaravo Bay , Kefalonia – report that a crew member left the door open, causing the yacht to take on water. All five guests and crew were evacuated safely.

“The tender door was left open, but [using video] we can’t confirm if Ethos was underway or left at anchor,” says eSysman SuperYachts who has studied available footage. “Reports seem to suggest they were moving with the door open – however unlikely this is.”

The YouTuber says he imagines the bridge and engine room would have CCTV of external doors, and visual systems on the bridge to show status. But, “clearly the vessel has watertight doors as it didn’t completely sink.”

Footage show a heavy list while Ethos tries to make it to shallower water, helped along by a sailing vessel giving it a tow. According to local media, the safety systems were activated and Ethos anchored in the bay of Evreti where a water pumping operation began as a diver inspected the yacht’s hull.

The Italian Sea Group made Admiral costs circa $180,000 a week to rent and was built in 2014.

Ethos features five cabins, an onboard gym, deck jacuzzi and jet skis, and had just undergone a complete interior renovation after its new owner purchased the vessel for some £16 million, says the Daily Mail.

The extent of the damage is not yet known, but it is thought the yacht will have to undergo significant repairs and the newly renovated interior may need to be refitted.

Recently a superyacht crew was arrested and charged with arson after an estimated 1,200 hectares (3,000 acres) of forest was lost to a blaze on Greek island Hydra.  The captain and first officer of Persefoni I were jailed ahead of a trial on charges of arson. Eleven other crew members were freed on bail and with restrictions. The Kazakh businessman who had chartered the yacht at the time publicly denied allegations that he or any passengers aboard were responsible for the wildfire.
