Yacht Club de Monaco installs Aqua superPower fast chargers
Yacht Club de Monaco says it has become the first marina to install two Aqua 200 HPC (High Power Charging) marine chargers, as it aims to transform the charging experience for high-performance electric leisure and commercial boats.
In 2019, Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) claimed to be the first marina in the world to equip its dock with Aqua’s DC marine fast chargers, an initiative that included adding electric tenders to reinforce its Sports Section’s fleet.
In 2021, the marina upgraded its dockside charging facilities with Aqua superPower’s second-generation rapid chargers.
As host of the annual Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, YCM says it has taken its commitment to electric boating further by collaborating with Aqua superPower as a technical partner for this year’s event.
The collaboration resulted in the creation of the ‘biggest installation globally dedicated to public marine fast charging on a single pontoon’, according to YCM, with Aqua’s AC and DC charging solutions.

In a strategic move, Aqua superPower has also partnered with Kempower, a Finnish developer of scalable EV charging solutions. This partnership aims to assist high-usage site operators like Yacht Club de Monaco in managing their evolving demand for electric boat charging, enhance revenue, and support the marine industry’s transition to electric propulsion.
“Monaco has always fostered its tradition as a pioneer in motorboating, notably with the organisation of the first international powerboat meetings at the turn of the 20th century,” says Bernard d’Alessandri, general secretary of the Yacht Club de Monaco. “Today, the Yacht Club de Monaco continues this tradition of innovation through hosting international events such as the Monaco Smart Yacht Rendezvous (21-22 March 2024), the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous (22-23 September 2024), and by organising the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (1-6 July 2024), with the aim to build a sustainable yachting sector”.
