At the recent Southampton International Boat Show (13–21 September 2024), TheYachtMarket.com made an exciting announcement, introducing its new fully integrated CRM (customer relationship management) and boat listing management system, Stantia.

In this video interview, Simon White, chief technical officer and co-founder of TheYachtMarket.com, highlights the significance of this development for yacht brokers and dealers, saying it has the potential to revolutionise boat sales efficiency.

Stantia, designed with brokers and dealers in mind, aims to streamline their processes, allowing them to focus more on the sales aspect of their business. “It’s really important for us that the more efficient they make that process for themselves, the better experience their customers will have when they’re buying boats from them,” says White. This efficiency is achieved through a variety of tools aimed at managing customer relationships and handling the logistics of boat sales with precision.”

He explains: “What Stantia does is to provide those brokers and dealers with the tools that they need to manage the other parts of their business, to put all of their customer details into, so that they can look after those customers to the best that they can, never miss a meeting, never miss a callback.”

One of the most exciting features of Stantia is the boat-matching system, which offers an experience similar to ‘dating’, where the customer is matched with potential boats to suit them. “I got very excited about the boat matching system when I was testing it,” says White. “It’s all about what the customer wants. The boat never ‘swipes left!’” This system saves brokers valuable time by allowing them to quickly match potential buyers with available boats based on specific criteria, creating a more tailored and efficient sales process.

The system is built to serve an international market, with plans for multilingual versions on the horizon. “We want to make this Stantia CRM product available to customers all over the world,” White reveals, adding that–while the system currently supports English–additional language options will soon follow.

Stantia has been in development for several years, with TheYachtMarket.com conducting extensive consultations with their brokerage clients to refine the product. White mentioned that the initial concept had been discussed for over a decade, but development kicked off in earnest five years ago. A soft launch occurred in July, allowing for a period of feedback, and now, the system is fully available to English-speaking users.

Looking ahead, White confirmed that continuous development is a priority, saying: “There are lots of extra features on top of what we’re launching at the moment, which are already in development.”
